TPO Free

At Outlet Nails, with a clear focus on safety and regulatory compliance, since the end of 2024 we have been progressively replacing this ingredient with other authorized photoinitiators.
Since January 2025, TPO has been completely eliminated from all our formulas.

TPO is a photoinitiator used in the curing of UV/LED gels. According to Regulation (EU) 2025/877, published on May 13, 2025, its use in cosmetics will be prohibited as of September 1, 2025.

  • Diphenyl (2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl) phosphine oxide

  • Trimethyl benzoyl phosphine oxide

PERMITTED (safe and already in use in our formulas):

  • TPO-L (CAS 84434-11-7)

    • Ethyl phenyl(2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl)phosphinate

    • Ethyl trimethylbenzoyl phenylphosphinate

  • BAPO (CAS 162881-26-7)

    • Phenylbis(2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl)phosphine oxide

    • Bis-trimethylbenzoyl phenylphosphine oxide
